Final Destination 2 is a 2003 supernatural horror film directed by Steve Miner. The movie serves as a sequel to the original Final Destination film and follows Kimberly Corman (Aimee Graham), a high school student who has a premonition of a devastating highway pileup that will claim the lives of over 40 people. On New Year's Eve, Kimberly decides to take a shortcut on her way home from a party with friends. Her intuition kicks in, and she becomes convinced that something terrible is about to happen. Panicked, Kimberly pulls over to the side of the road and blocks traffic flow, preventing the impending disaster from occurring. Unbeknownst to her, by doing so, she has inadvertently saved the lives of several people who would have otherwise perished. As the days go by, Kimberly's friends begin to die off one by one in bizarre and gruesome accidents that seem to defy explanation. The survivors start to suspect that their near-death experience on the highway was not a coincidence, but rather a harbinger of doom. It becomes clear that Death itself is exacting revenge for Kimberly's meddling with fate. With her friends dropping like flies, Kimberly finds herself at the center of a maelstrom of terror and confusion. As she delves deeper into the mystery behind their deaths, she realizes that each of them had a unique connection to the original highway disaster, which had somehow become entwined with their own mortality. As the body count rises and the survivors' options dwindle, Kimberly must use her wits and resourcefulness to unravel the web of fate that has been spun around her friends.
